MIDI and Audio

Fixing the Wiring

I've finally broken at the thought of pulling more MIDI and audio cables through the horror that was the audio wiring under my desk so I've rearranged it a bit. The plan was to nail strips of double-sided velcro cable-tie to the underside of the desk. It turns out that once you push a couple of tacks through velcro it immediately resembles both visually and in behavior a small fanged animal.

Pictures of the end result are below. I've got several MIDI devices scattered around, most in the first half of the room, but the Juno and MS2000 live around the corner a bit, so they need magic 6m audio cables. I just reticulate 20' MIDI cables to everthing, usually in bunches of 4 cable-tied together to save hassle with the wiring.

I've got the AudioMIDI setup responsible for all this wiring at the bottom of the page. If I had a sane wiring layout program, I'd doing something similar for the audio cables, but I'm probably going to upgrade mixers sometime soon.
